KBA Announces Rep Team Coaches
The KBA is pleased to announce that we will be fielding 4 competitive rep teams in two different leagues for the 2017 season.
We feel that Little League provides a great culture for our younger players to learn the game and still play competitive baseball within a relatively close proximity to the Kingston area. We would encourage you to learn more about Little League by going to their website below:
The coaches for the Kingston Colts Little League teams are as follows:
Minor: Sept. 1, 2006 – Aug. 31, 2008, coach: Kris Kehoe. This team will compete for the district championship for the right to represent District 7 in the Provincial Championships.
Major: May 1, 2004 – Aug. 31, 2006, coach: Dave Mignault. This is the premier team for our organization. Our focus will be to compete for our District championship to earn the right to enter the Provincial tournament. Provincial winners, move to the Canadians; the Canadian winner reaches the pinnacle and plays for the World Series as seen on ESPN. Our budget reflects the boys making the Ontario birth. Fundraising efforts may be required in addition to fee.
Major (Development): May 1, 2004 – Aug. 31, 2006, coach: Pat Gilmour. Comprised of mainly 1st year majors and others who may not want the extreme summer travel. All the training and game time of the Major 1, no district tournament entry.

Will play a modified schedule in the National Capital region, this division get the kids ready for the 60/90 diamond transition, hence will play a mixture of 50/70 games and 60/90. They have the chance to compete in Districts for the Provincial tournament Title.

As mentioned, the 15U team will compete in the Fergie Jenkins Showcase League. This league provides a high level of competition in the GTA area, predominantly for age groups aged 14 and up. Please review the information available on their website. The link is attached below:
The intent of the FJSL league is to showcase talented elite baseball players in order for them to make it to the next level: play baseball in Canadian and American Colleges and Universities; with the possibility of playing baseball professionally. The league runs 2 schedules; summer and fall, throughout Ontario.
In partnering with respected baseball organizations such as Little League and the Fergie Jenkins Showcase League, the Kingston Baseball Association is excited to facilitate young athletes’ desires to compete, develop and showcase their abilities a very high level.
Please join us in welcoming the Colts coaching staff as we move into an exciting new year.
