Congrats To The 12U Fall Ball Team

Congratulations to the Kingston Colts 12U Fall Ball Team for finishing 2nd at the Sam Bat Fall Ball Tournament hosted by the Kanata Cubs this past weekend.

The team battled hard and went undefeated through the round robin on Saturday. Sunday morning the Colts faced a very talented Kanata Cubs team in the semi finals. The Colts were down 3-0 in the early innings but with some timely hitting, good base running and a very solid pitching performance by Sam Hogan the Colts battled back and took the game 6-3. This win put the Colts in the finals against the Seaway Surge team that they beat 5-3 just 24 hours earlier.  Seaway Surge came charging out of the gates and got an early 1-0 lead. Outstanding defence backed by 3 double plays, 2 of which came from the outfield, held the Surge to only 1 run. The Colts offence unfortunately was unable to get anything rolling against a very tough Seaway Surge pitcher and the team fell short with the game ending in a 1-0 final score. Congratulations to all of the players and coaches on a fantastic showing this weekend.

Members of the team were; Jayce Boshart, Hunter Dawson, Andrew Gilmour, Nathan Hibbert, Sam Hogan, Griffin Hunt, Ethan Mayhew, Will Pringle, Gus Rickards, Owen Swaine, Carter Yeomans and Joe Yeomans.

Coaching staff; Pat Gilmour, Jim Hunt, Jon Swaine and Steve Vallier

District 7 Champions, again!!!!

Congratulations to the Minor Colts on their 4-3 win over the Brockville Braves tonight in the District 7 championship game. Kingston jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning and held off the Braves to take the win. Callum Nicholson got the start and went the maximum 75 pitches allowing only 2 runs. Brock Hamilton came in to finish the game holding the Braves to a single run in the 5th inning and then struck out the side in order to claim the championship. The team will now head to the provincial tournament in Windsor to represent Kingston and District 7. Good luck to all of the players and their coaches.
